INNOVNESA #3 Highlights Unesa’s Expanding Innovation Landscape, Featuring Multidisciplinary Breakthroughs from Across Campuses
Surabaya, 24–26 November
2025 — Universitas Negeri Surabaya successfully held INNOVNESA #3 – Unesa
Innovation Product Exhibition, one of the university’s flagship annual events
dedicated to showcasing the advancement of research, technology, and applied innovations
across disciplines. The exhibition, which took place at the Ground Floor of the
Unesa Rectorate Building, Lidah Wetan, brought together innovators from various
faculties, study programs, research centers, and collaborating institutions.
Carrying the overarching
theme “Shaping a Sustainable Future through Creativity & Collaboration,”
INNOVNESA #3 affirmed Unesa’s position as a leading innovation-driven
university. The event also served as a collaborative platform that connected
academia, industry, policymakers, and the community, emphasizing the
university’s commitment to fostering sustainable and socially impactful
innovations.
A Comprehensive Exhibition of
Multidisciplinary Innovations
This year’s exhibition was organized into multiple thematic
zones, each presenting a curated lineup of innovative products, prototypes, and
technology demonstrations. These zones highlighted the breadth of Unesa’s
innovation ecosystem, ranging from engineering and digital technology to
education, healthcare, fashion, and community-centered sustainability.
1. Spotlight Areas: Technology and
Industrial Innovation
Three Spotlight Areas displayed advanced engineering
solutions and applied technologies, including:
- VTIS, HHD, Speer Bicycle, and TAG Us Shoes
- Digital Wellbeing Assistive
Applications, Tsunami Prediction Models
- Smart PJU lighting (YOLO PJU),
IoT Irrigation Systems, Sensor Farming
- Robotics, PID motor testing
systems, eco-friendly exhaust innovations
- MERV vehicle prototype, Agricultural Drone Technology, and Business Matching
Corner
These clusters demonstrated the university’s growing
contributions to industrial technology, automation, environmental sensing,
robotics, and disaster mitigation.
2. Edutech Area: Digital Learning
and Pedagogical Innovation
The Edutech Area showcased modern educational technologies
such as:
- VR Lato-Lato and Eye Tracking
applications
- Digiguru.id (FIP), VR/AR
learning media (FISIPOL)
- Neo Sorogan Learning Platform
(FIP)
- Innovations from collaborating
universities including UNAIR’s Kinara
- Contributions from Unesa
Campus 5 (Magetan), underscoring its active participation in Unesa’s
innovation ecosystem
This area highlighted Unesa's leadership in digital pedagogy
and technology-enhanced learning.
3. Sustainable Nature Area: Green
Products and Environmental Solutions
Products in this zone emphasized ecological sustainability,
including:
- Organic bacterial and fungal
starters for peatland fertilizer
- Instant guava powder
- Ecoenzym sanitizer, sunflower
soap, livestock feed innovations
- Probiotic goat feed, ecobites
- Collaborative products from
ITS, UNUSA, and others
These innovations addressed environmental restoration,
agriculture, and food sustainability.
4. Batik & Craft Area: Cultural
and Artistic Innovation
Featuring batik textiles, handcrafted fans, and creative
craftworks from LPPM and Dharma Wanita, this area celebrated the fusion of
cultural heritage and modern design.
5. Learning Media Area: Creative
Tools for Education
A wide array of teaching tools were presented, including:
- Mathematics learning kits such
as Rumah Perkalian
- Educational innovations from
FT, PAUD, FBS, and Labschool
- Multilingual books, pop-up
media, wooden alphabet books, and thematic STEM teaching tools
This area highlighted Unesa’s strong roots in educational
innovation.
6. Sustainable Fashion Area
Exhibitions of modern textile development, 3D batik, and
vocational fashion products emphasized circular design and eco-conscious
fashion concepts.
7. Food & Beverage Innovation
Area
Various UMKM-style and research-driven culinary products
were displayed, such as:
- Traditional Roti Gapleki,
purple brownies, sambal products
- Moringa crackers, yogurt,
herbal beverage innovations, quick rice, and specialty coffee
These products demonstrated innovation in food technology
and local empowerment.
8. Special Needs Education Area
Products supporting inclusive education were featured,
including:
- Digital Inclusion Center (DIC)
innovations
- Portable literacy-numeracy
tools for the visually impaired
- AI-enabled CCTV for child
safety
- Assistive technology from
collaborating institutions
9. Healthcare Area
Innovations in public health, medical education, and
wellness were presented, including:
- Sports dentistry education kits
- Molecular edugames
- Children’s health detection
website
- Psychology-based emotion cards,
storytelling books, and the Siwalma system
- Nanogold-related wellness
technologies
10. Art Gallery Area
The gallery featured eco-friendly artistic outputs:
- EcoTik panels
- Recycled polymer panels
- Ceramic glaze calligraphy
- Metal embroidery panels
- Ceramic tableware
- Videos and performing arts from
the Department of Dance and Music
11. Poster Exhibition Area
This section presented academic and service-based posters,
such as legal aid services, business incubation, journal services, mobility
programs, SDGs Center initiatives, and facial expression detection research.
Participation of Unesa Campus 5
As part of the
university’s collaborative innovation network, Unesa Campus 5 joined this
year’s exhibition by contributing works to the Edutech sector. This
participation reflects the campus’s continuous involvement in Unesa’s strategic
efforts to strengthen research-based learning, foster student innovation, and
support cross-campus integration within the
university.
Strengthening Unesa’s National
Innovation Framework
INNOVNESA #3 once again underscored Unesa’s commitment to
driving innovation that is multidisciplinary, sustainable, and impactful for
society. The event not only highlighted technological breakthroughs but also
celebrated cross-sector collaboration, creative problem-solving, and wide
community engagement.
