Campus UNESA 5 and Bakesbangpol Magetan Conduct Technical Meeting for Regional Quiz Competition
Campus UNESA 5, 20 November 2025 — The Government of Magetan Regency, in collaboration with UniversitasNegeri Surabaya (UNESA) Campus 5, successfully conducted the TechnicalMeeting (TM) for the upcoming Magetan Quiz Competition aimed atstrengthening political awareness and national insight among youth. The TM,held on 20 November 2025, brought together representatives from various seniorhigh schools across Magetan.
The event opened with a welcoming address fromBakesbangpol Magetan, emphasizing that national insight programs have long beenpart of the agency’s annual agenda. Traditionally delivered as thematicsocialization sessions, this year the agency is introducing a more interactiveand student-centered format through a competitive quiz. Bakesbangpol noted that30 teams have already registered, representing a wide range of schools, andexpressed hope that the competition will become an annual flagship program forMagetan Regency.

Following this, Mr. Gading, Vice Director IIof UNESA Campus 5 detailed the competition’s technical guidelines. Hereiterated that the quiz will cover three core categories: national insight,basic mathematics, and political awareness, all aligned with the central theme:“Enhancing Political Awareness and National Insight for the YoungerGeneration.” The competition is scheduled to take place on 29 November2025, with each school allowed to send one team consisting of three students.
Participants have one week to prepare, and allstudents are required to wear national batik attire to maintain neutrality andavoid visual bias during the competition. The event will consist of threestages: preliminary rounds, semifinals, and the grand final. Preliminary roundswill run across five sessions using a fastest-bell system, followed by asimilar semifinals format with three sessions. The grand final will be held atthe campus lobby, while the initial rounds will be conducted in classrooms. Inaddition to UNESA judges, the competition will feature evaluators from theProvincial Office and the Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag).
Bakesbangpol also recommended incorporating localcultural content specific to Magetan to enrich the competition materialsand reflect regional values.
During the Q&A session, several schoolsraised logistical questions. Representatives from SMK Takeran inquired aboutbackup participants, scoring deductions, and late registration submissions.Organizers confirmed that each team must include one alternate student, makingit three main participants plus one reserve member. It was also clarified thatall participants will receive certificates, with additional recognitionprovided to winners. Regarding registration, schools that have not completedall required uploads may continue to submit documents, as registration remainsopen until November 27, 2025.
Withstrong enthusiasm from schools and full support from UNESA and Magetan Regency,the upcoming Quiz Competition is expected to foster critical thinking,democratic awareness, and national pride among the youth of Magetan.
