UNESA Campus 5 Conducts Comprehensive Benchmarking Visit at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) to Strengthen Multi-Program Educational Quality
Yogyakarta, October 15, 2025 — As part of its continuous effort to elevate higher educationstandards in Indonesia, the Faculty representatives from Campus 5 ofUniversitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) carried out a comprehensivebenchmarking program at Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY) today.
This benchmarking initiative was meticulouslydesigned and involved no fewer than seven of UNESA’s flagship study programs: MathematicsEducation, Physical Education, Health, and Recreation (PJKR), SportsCoaching Education (PKO), English Literature, Early ChildhoodTeacher Education (PG-PAUD), Primary School Teacher Education (PGSD),and Cosmetology Education.
The main goal of this visit was to exchangein-depth experiences and adopt best practices in various aspects ofhigher education management, ranging from curriculum design to learningevaluation. Throughout this full-day activity, UNESA delegates visited severalof UNY’s leading study programs and held intensive discussions with seniorlecturers and program heads. The sessions focused on digital-based curriculuminnovation, effective blended learning methods, and holistic human resourcedevelopment strategies in response to the challenges of the Industry 4.0 era.Each discussion was guided by expert moderators from UNY, ensuring that everyprogram received relevant and actionable insights.

For the Cosmetology Education program, thebenchmarking was held at UNY’s Gunungkidul Campus, renowned for itsinternationally standardized aesthetics and beauty facilities. The UNESAparticipants explored professional makeup studios, digital beauty laboratories,and student project galleries while discussing topics such as sustainablebeauty trends, industry certification, and the integration of makeup art withtechnology. The visit not only provided practical inspiration but also openeddoors for future collaboration.
“This benchmarking activity is a strategicand valuable momentum for us to continuously improve the quality of educationin the digital era,” said Dr. Anna Noordia, S.TP.,M.Kes., Vice Director I of UNESA Campus 5, during a short press briefing.

She further explained that the results of thebenchmarking would soon be translated into concrete recommendations, includingcurriculum revisions and lecturer training programs, scheduled forimplementation in the upcoming semester. Meanwhile, Dr. Hedi ArdiyantoHermawan, M.Or., Dean of the Faculty of Sports Science (FIKK) UNY, warmlywelcomed the UNESA delegates from PJKR and PKO programs, emphasizing:
“We are proud to share our experiences, ascollaboration like this is the key to building a competitive national andglobal education ecosystem.”
This benchmarking program is expected to bringtangible improvements to Campus UNESA 5 while serving as a model for otherIndonesian universities striving to achieve educational excellence.
