Campus 5 UNESA Hosts Batangas State University, Philippines for International Partnership and Benchmarking
Magetan, Indonesia – 4 September 2025 — The spirit of friendship and academic collaboration was vividly felt at Campus 5 Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) as the university welcomed the visitation of Batangas State University (BatStateU), Philippines. The event began with both delegations standing together to sing the Philippine national anthem and Indonesia Raya, symbolizing unity and mutual respect between the two nations.
This historic occasion was marked by the signing of an Initial Arrangements for partnership, opening doors to international benchmarking and cooperation between the two institutions.

The BatStateU delegation was led by Dr. Marvin C. Hernandez, Associate Dean of CABEIHM, BatStateU ARASOF – Nasugbu. In his remarks, Dr. Hernandez shared his optimism about the collaboration, noting that the partnership may involve joint research initiatives, international internship programs, and the provision of resource speakers for seminars and training programs. He also emphasized opportunities for visiting professors and lecturers, faculty exchanges, student exchange programs, and study abroad opportunities, while leaving room for future academic cooperation that may emerge as the collaboration grows.
A welcoming speech was delivered by Mr. Gading Gamaputra, S.AP., MPA., Deputy Director II of UNESA Campus 5, who warmly greeted the BatStateU delegation and highlighted UNESA’s strong commitment to broadening its international partnerships.
Further remarks came from Ms. Berne Grac A. Padua, Head of Research and Program Chairperson of BA Communication at BatStateU – Lipa. She elaborated on BatStateU’s academic and research priorities and expressed her hope for productive collaboration with UNESA in areas that benefit both institutions and their students.
