All of New Unesa Kampus 5 Students Take Part in First TEP Test Today
Magetan — More than 1,800 new students from the State University of Surabaya (Unesa) Campus 5 took part in the first Test of English Proficiency (TEP) held today, Saturday (November 8). The large-scale event took place on campus, supervised by the organizing committee and lecturers from each study program.
Participants came from various undergraduate programs, including Management, Law, Communication Science, Informatics, Primary School Teacher Education and etc. Each student was assigned a specific seat number and test code, as listed in the official schedule released earlier by the university.

According to the organizing committee, the TEP session ran smoothly and in an orderly manner despite the high number of participants. Students showed strong enthusiasm throughout the test, which consisted of several sections designed to assess their English skills — including listening, structure, and reading comprehension. The committee also ensured that all facilities and testing equipment operated properly to maintain an efficient testing environment.
“Today’s TEP marks an important first step for new students to understand their English proficiency level. The results will be used for academic placement and as evaluation material in the university’s language development programs,” said one of the committee coordinators.
As part of Unesa’s ongoing effort to improve graduate quality, the TEP is mandatory for all new students. It not only measures language competency but also encourages them to strengthen their English skills early in their academic journey. Through this initiative, Unesa reaffirms its commitment to producing globally competitive graduates equipped with strong communication abilities.
