UNESA Campus 5 Equips New Students with Global Opportunities at PKKMB 2026
Magetan – The New Student Campus Life Orientation (PKKMB) series at Universitas Negeri Surabaya (UNESA) Campus 5 Magetan in 2026 once again featured strategic sessions to boost student readiness in navigating the global era. Through an orientation session led by the Directorate of Unesa Global Engagement (UGE), new students were equipped with comprehensive insights regarding opportunities for international interaction and mobility from the very beginning of their academic journey.
The materials were delivered directly by two key speakers, Muchamad Arif Al Ardha, Ph.D., Director of UGE, and Asrori, S.S., M.Pd., Head of the Office of International Affairs (OIA) UNESA. During the presentation, the Directorate of Unesa Global Engagement (UGE) emphasized its core responsibility in driving and expanding UNESA's internationalization agenda by coordinating and facilitating various academic collaborations and international mobility programs for both students and faculty. The mobility framework is divided into two primary categories: Outbound Programs, which enable UNESA students to gain learning experiences abroad, and Inbound Programs, which welcome international students to study and participate in activities across UNESA campuses.
Through the Outbound Programs, students at UNESA Campus 5 Magetan have the opportunity to expand their networks across various destination countries, including Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand. Various mobility pathways are available through the UNESA Global Students Mobility Award (UGSMA) to global partner institutions such as Saekyung University, Bielefeld University, and Universiti Malaya, as well as the International Credit Transfer (ICT) scheme for academic credit transfers. Furthermore, students can participate in international assistant teaching initiatives in Australia, international internships/teaching practices, NUPACE in Japan, Summer Courses, and the Western Australia - East Java Universities Consortium (WAEJUC).

On the other hand, UGE actively organizes international cultural events involving foreign students through the UNESA Summer Camp (USC), which introduces Indonesian and Surabaya culture to support the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and enhance the university's World Class University standing. This spirit of inclusivity is further strengthened by the International Cultural Festival (ICF), combining arts, sports, and cultural exchange to promote healthy lifestyles, build inclusive communities, and foster global partnerships, supported by the Interest Talent Program (ITP) as a platform for talent development and interaction between UGE volunteers and international students.
To ensure global education remains accessible to all, UNESA provides various financial support options, including the UNESA Humanitarian Scholarship for children of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI), the Unesa Global Students Scholarship (UGS) for full-time international students, as well as participation in the Darmasiswa Scholarship and the Developing Countries Partnership (KNB) Scholarship offered by the Indonesian government. Through the insightful session led by Muchamad Arif Al Ardha, Ph.D. and Asrori, S.S., M.Pd. during PKKMB, UNESA Campus 5 Magetan remains fully committed to guiding new students to leverage every global exchange opportunity and develop into internationally competitive talents.
