Kickstarting 2026 with Enthusiasm: Kampus 5 Unesa Honors Outstanding Achievements and Accelerates 2026 Academic Evaluation
Kampus 5, Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa), January 7, 2026 – As the new year begins, Kampus 5 Unesa held its first coordination meeting on Monday, January 7, 2026, marking a vibrant start to 2026. The meeting served as a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of the previous year, recognize dedicated faculty and staff, and outline strategic plans to further enhance educational quality, administrative efficiency, infrastructure development, and meaningful collaborations.
Recognition for Outstanding Faculty and Administrative Staff
The meeting highlighted the results of the performance evaluation report for lecturers and administrative staff (tendik), focusing on attendance tracked via fingerprint and mobile systems. Special recognition was given for exceptional attendance and activity, with mobile attendance validated for official assignments, online teaching, or tasks without on-site sessions. The faculty expressed its commitment to rewarding lecturers for their active contributions and outstanding performance.
The most active administrative staff award went to Mr. Endik Suryanto, S.E, while the most active lecturer award was presented to Mrs. Dr. Helda Kusuma Wardani, S.Pd., M.Pd. Additionally, the programs with the best cooperation records were Teknik Pendidikan (TP), Sastra Inggris (Sasing), Informatika, and Pendidikan Matematika. All award recipients will receive prizes and official certificates in appreciation of their dedication and contributions.
Academic Administration and Performance Targets
Participants were reminded to promptly complete the 2026 Employee Work Targets (SKP), while Lecturer Workload (BKD) reports are still undergoing revisions. For Community Service (PKM) activities, published journals can be included in the publication/community service component, with further details to be discussed during upcoming refresher sessions.
Lecturers who have not yet obtained functional positions were informed of the opportunity to apply for faculty research funding worth Rp15 million per group (maximum 5 members), with the mandatory output being indexed proceedings.
Regarding PKM partnerships, Kampus 5 is open to collaborations with private companies (PT) or government institutions. These matters will be further discussed at the leadership level to ensure alignment and maximum benefit. Emphasis was placed on the importance of cooperation producing tangible impacts and real activities—not limited to mere documentation. International-level collaborations can take various forms, such as guest speakers, visiting lectures, or other academic exchanges.
Lecture Evaluation and Facility Development
The evaluation of the previous semester's lectures showed encouraging results. Lecturers were urged to verify submitted grades by the deadline of January 10, 2026, and closely monitor students' Grade Point Averages (GPA) to ensure they meet the minimum standard for civil servant candidates (3.25). Nearly all study programs have fully utilized the Learning Management System (LMS), implementing blended learning (online and offline) with an impressive average student attendance rate of 95-100%.
The new Head of the Quality Assurance Group (GPM), Ms. Lisnani, presented a comprehensive evaluation report highlighting successful collaborations between central campus lecturers and those at Kampus 5. The student evaluations of lecturers, published by the Institutional Development Agency (BPM), were reported to be quite satisfactory overall.
On infrastructure, the campus currently manages 71 study groups (rombel) with only 14 available classrooms, prompting strong hopes for the construction of a new building this year. To boost income generation, the campus will receive assistance in the form of fitness equipment and beauty/makeup tools, alongside plans for paid seminars. Study programs were encouraged to promptly prepare promotional materials for their respective programs.
Lecturers were advised to carefully schedule classes to ensure colleagues' BKD remains secure. When primary lecturers from other campuses teach at Kampus 5, they must bring official travel orders (SPPD), and program coordinators are required to submit initial proposals. The target for e-module adoption was set at 100%, while lecturer assignments are encouraged to involve international partners to produce Memorandums of Agreement (MoA).
This opening meeting of 2026 underscores Kampus 5 Unesa's strong commitment to continuous improvement in education quality, faculty and staff performance, infrastructure, and impactful collaborations—both domestic and international—ensuring a brighter and more productive year ahead for the entire academic community.
