Halal Bihalal at UNESA Campus 5 Highlights Spiritual Renewal and Collective Growth in Support of SDGs
April 2, 2026 — Universitas Negeri Surabaya Campus 5 held a Halal Bihalal event under the theme “Sowing Taqwa: Manifesting the Values of Eid al-Fitr in Self-Actualization in a New Era of Civilization” on Thursday (2/4/2026) at the lobby of UNESA Campus 5. The event not only fostered spiritual reflection and social cohesion but also aligned with the principles of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting quality education, strong institutions, and inclusive communities.
The program began with participant
registration followed by musical performances from the student band “Resonance”
and other artistic presentations, creating a sense of togetherness. The formal
session continued with the singing of the Indonesian national anthem and the
UNESA hymn, followed by a recitation of the Holy Qur’an.
In her opening remarks, the Director of UNESA Campus 5, Prof. Dr. Sarmini, M.Hum., emphasized the importance of Eid al-Fitr as a moment to strengthen bonds and reinforce shared values within the academic community, reflecting SDGs commitments to social harmony and inclusive institutional culture.
The address from UNESA leadership was delivered by Prof. Dr. H. Bambang Yulianto, representing the Rector. He conveyed his sincere apologies on behalf of the Rector and extended Eid greetings to all attendees. “On behalf of the Rector, we sincerely ask for forgiveness. May this gathering strengthen our unity and collaboration,” he stated. He further highlighted that the development of UNESA Campus 5 contributes to broader SDGs objectives, including enhancing access to higher education and empowering local communities.

The main session featured a religious sermon delivered by Muhtar Wakid, S.ST., M.T., who reflected on the deeper meaning of Halal Bihalal in contemporary life, emphasizing the importance of maintaining harmonious relationships as a manifestation of faith, values that resonate with SDGs principles of peace, justice, and strong institutions.

The event continued with a collective prayer, charity session, institutional briefing, and the symbolic Halal Bihalal procession, where participants exchanged greetings and forgiveness, accompanied by religious songs. This moment marked the emotional peak of the gathering, reinforcing unity and mutual respect within the academic community.

The program concluded with a group photo
session, door prizes, and a friendly gathering over refreshments and live
music. The event officially ended at 1:00 PM, leaving participants with a
renewed sense of connection, spiritual awareness, and commitment to
contributing toward sustainable and inclusive development.
