Field Assessment for the Undergraduate Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program at UNESA Campus 5 Reinforces Commitment to Academic Excellence
2 July 2026 – The Undergraduate Elementary School Teacher Education (PGSD) Study Program at UNESA Campus 5 successfully conducted its Field Assessment on 2–3 July 2026 as part of the national accreditation process. The assessment served as an important milestone in evaluating the study program's academic quality, governance, learning process, research, community engagement, and quality assurance system.
The Field Assessment was carried out by two distinguished assessors: Dr. Idham Ragil Widianto Atmojo, S.Pd., M.Si. from Universitas Sebelas Maret and Dr. Ghullam Hamdu, M.Pd. from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia. Throughout the two-day visit, the assessors reviewed supporting documents, conducted interviews with university leaders, faculty members, administrative staff, students, alumni, and graduate employers, and observed the academic facilities and learning environment.
The opening session was attended by Prof. Dr. Sarmini, M.Hum, Director of UNESA Campus 5; Dr. Anna Noordia, S.TP., M.Kes., Vice Director for Academic Affairs; Gading Gamaputra, S.AP., MPA, Vice Director for General Affairs and Finance; Prof. Dr. Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, M.Pd., Vice Rector II for Legal Affairs, Governance, Finance, Human Resources, and Business of Universitas Negeri Surabaya; Prof. Dr. Mochamad Nursalim, M.Si., Dean of the Faculty of Education (FIP), Universitas Negeri Surabaya; representatives of the Quality Assurance Group (GPM) of UNESA Campus 5; and the Quality Assurance Board (BPM) of Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Head of the Magetan Office of Education, Youth, and Sports (Dinas Pendidikan, Kepemudaan, dan Olahraga); and Chair of the Maospati Teacher Working Group (KKG Maospati).Their presence reflected the university's strong institutional commitment to fostering a sustainable culture of quality and continuous improvement.
During the assessment, the assessors evaluated various aspects of the study program, including curriculum implementation, learning outcomes, research productivity, community service, partnerships, student support services, graduate achievements, and the effectiveness of the Internal Quality Assurance System. The comprehensive evaluation also highlighted the study program's efforts to align its academic practices with national higher education standards while responding to the evolving needs of society and the education sector.
The Field Assessment provided an invaluable opportunity for the PGSD Study Program to showcase its achievements, reflect on its continuous improvement initiatives, and receive constructive recommendations from the assessors. The feedback obtained during the visit will serve as an important foundation for strengthening academic quality, enhancing institutional performance, and advancing the study program toward greater excellence.
The entire assessment process concluded successfully in a collaborative and constructive atmosphere, reaffirming the commitment of the PGSD Study Program and UNESA Campus 5 to delivering high-quality teacher education and producing competent, innovative, and socially responsible future elementary school educators.
